Cakes for Wedding
Well, the grooms cake...Christina and I made the three layer rumcake at her house in Northampton, cut a hole in the top layer and inserted a smaller round cake pan that was to hold chocolate beer bottles and clear rock candy for an ice chest look. But...in the car on the way back to Kelly's house, the whole top layer fell apart and crumbled all down the sides of the white buttercream. It had to be ready the next day for dinner so I re-iced the two layers, and Christina decorated it with her fondant lables, bottles and rock candy and it looked fine.
You can believe that on Saturday when we had to drive the wedding cake to the site, we were very careful. I even put the top two tiers on in the back of the SUV and finished decorating with a police officer in a car behind me. (I was in a no parking zone, but he didn't come over when he saw what I was doing.)

I'm back
I can't believe I haven't posted since Oct. 12. So much has happened. Mainly, I have a wonderful new son-in-law. I couldn't be happier with him. He loves my daughter, is caring of the dogs, helpful around the house, has a good job, nice family, respectful to us old timers, and good Daddy material. Obviously, his family loves him very much as was shown by their lavish parties, gifts and hugs. Kelly is a lucky girl to have such a loving family near-by.
We love you Christopher.
