I'll be gone for a week. Don't miss me too much. Hope to have some nice photos when I return.

Election Day

So Happy if there is an end to the politicians ads on tv. Overkill.

Almost all the ads were for men so I am voting an all female ticket! The elections here are like a dog fight between male candidates. It is so sickening I don't know why they allow it. But that is just my viewpoint.
Amen

Missing My Hubby

It was so wonderful having him here for three weeks. But somebody needs to make some money and by unspoken unanimous vote he was selected. So he is off to PA/WV and not to happy about the situation there. The economy is playing havoc with his company and they want every minute of paid time accounted for, but there are so many extenuating circumstances that stop production at the drop of a hat. It's hurry up and wait and people have to be paid to wait, like it or not. It is a tense situation and I feel his frustration. But I'm too far away to comfort him. His sites are quite a distance apart, communication is lacking and working with the railroad is a test of endurance.

The good thing is on next Thursday I will see him in Fort Myers. Mom and I leave on Saturday. I do not know what we will do. I will go to the beach for sure. We will have a kitchen so we can cook and make sandwiches. We have bags of books from the Used Book Store. I have my Tangles, crosswords and sudoku puzzles. I guess I could bring my pole and go fishing. I hear trout are crazy for green gummy bears.

Dali Museum St. Petersburg

Our last day of Anniversary trip we thought we would go to the Lowery Park Zoo. But it rained. So we drove to St. Petersburg to the Salvadore Dali Museum. I was never a fan of Dali, but I became one after viewing his art in its real size and beauty. Sure, he was strange, but that was his hook. His mind was brilliant.

I couldn't get over the size of his master paintings, and you could look at them for hours and still see new stuff in them. He even had one of a woman looking out a window that became a painting of Abraham Lincoln if you got far away from it and squinted at it. That was amazing.

We enjoyed the water view and plan on visiting again when the new museum is built, it will be fabulous and will be able to show the whole collection at once. We only saw part of it. The new building will be from one of his designs.

Afterwards we enjoyed the architecture of St. Pete and found a waterfront restaurant on the marina. We enjoyed a great salad and pasta dish. Then we headed back to the motel for a swim in the pool as the rain had stopped.

We had a wonderful 41st wedding anniversary trip and afterwards found out that Vic would be able to fly into Ft. Myers after all for the last two days Mom and I will be there. We originally planned that trip for our Anniversary. Mom and I leave next Saturday for a time share at the beach. We will bring lots of books, and goodies and enjoy our leisure. Heh, heh.

Anniversary Trip to Tarpon Springs

We left Weeki Wachee hungry and headed for Tarpon Springs for a very late lunch. You can see the sponges strung on the ship docked behind the statue of a fisherman.

We ate at Helios Greek Restaurant and tried their specialties. Both were similar to Vic's favorite Shepperd's Pie. One even had eggplant which was very good. The photo of the mermaids clothes on the line was taken there. There was also a huge bakery connected to the restaurant and we didn't miss it. Yum. You can see it through the glass under the mermaid's clothes.

Weeki Wachee Springs

The springs were smaller than I expected, but the shows were great. They did the Little Mermaid. It was very good, even had the monster come up from the deep and a great fight scene.

They also had another show that told how the mermaids are selected and what they have to do. One thing is to swim down 100 feet and then come back up on one breath of air.

Another hard thing is to learn how to stay still without floating up and down as they breath. This would be hard for me. I would be bobbing up and down all over.

Another mermaid drank a soda from the bottle underwater. See the turtle...it is in almost all our photos.

I loved the times the mermaids would grab each others tails and swim in circles. This photo shows another one swimming through the circle.

While there we went to the gift shop and I got a mermaid puzzle. I can't wait to start on it. I have some cleaning and rearranging of the living room first. Betty, Maggie May's mom, likes puzzles and may come over to help me. She is very smart and helps me with cross-word puzzles too. Mostly she and Mom drink coffee.

We did not swim in the spring. Vic doesn't like cold water and it is 76 degrees. The kids there were not letting the cold water keep them out, it was a hot day.

New Master Bath

Thank goodness, he had three weeks. It was a small space and hard to work in. And I kept changing his mind. But I got blue glass tiles, the narrow vanity, Mexican tiles, white paint, mirror painted blue, and the lighted magnifier mirror. The toilet is even new and a little taller for ease of the knees.
I think he did a marvelous job.
He is already aching to do Mom's closet and the lanai floor in tile.
What then? the moon.

Back from the Deep Blues

I hope that is all it is. I have been feeling drugged lately and God knows I take a lot of prescription meds. Lately diagnosed with anemia, low potassium and esophagitis erosive and suspicion of Barrett's, I have been dragging around from nap to nap. Vic and I enjoyed a trip to the beach and overnight in Venice and this week to WeekiWatchie for a couple of days before he leaves day after our anniversary to go back to work. The work is good as the Kennesaw house is sucking us dry. Thank goodness for his free hotel rooms. He has done a wonderful job on Mom's bathroom. Now he is refinishing the tiles in the kitchen. He was really rushed for time doing the whole kitchen in one week and the tiles probably didn't dry enough between coats. He is scraping the sealer off to clean a apply again. Soooo...wishing for energy for myself and him off his knees.
